See the Butcher. Leonard “Lenny” Simchick, son of a Butcher and Grocer in Luzerne PA. Lenny grows up, some say, to about 6 foot and 8 inches. He expands his horizons towards the buzz and bustle of New York City. The Big Apple. Eventually, office life had him yearning for the old days of performing his father’s craft. He carves a new journey into the world of butcher apprenticeship, and after 7 years, he finally establishes a stronghold for that fabled niche of butchery in the culinary arts.

That ancient craft of meat cutting collects today a motley crew of acolytes continuing a tradition spanning hundreds (if not thousands) of years. Established in 1992, Simchick Meats follows in a lineage of Sutton Place butcher shops that started with Fitz and Sons in 1867. Our aim is to provide quality meat and poultry products, carved and prepared with the care and quality deserved by the meat and to the liking of our valued customers.

And for those who don’t feel like cooking, we have a variety of fully cooked meals ready to reheat and enjoy without fuss. And for those who endeavor upon new recipes, we can give advice and guidance to novices or experts alike. When preparation is key, we invite the neighborhood to treat us as an extension to their own kitchens.
